I used to always hate it when my hair stylist would tell me to only wash my hair a few times a week. How do they expect me to be able to keep my hair nice looking, when every time I wake up I have man hair!
I know that you know what I mean by man hair. When you fall asleep, then wake up to hair that has molded into the position in which you fell asleep. I cannot even tell you how many times I have woken up, looked in the mirror and seen my bangs standing straight up in the air, as if I was in the scene from "There's Something About Mary".
So what is a girl to do ?!? And why does this happen ?!?
When we sleep on cotton or polyester sheets, our hair naturally will cling to the material. Mix in movement and sweating and what you wake up to is a hot mess.
The easiest way to resolve this problem is with either a sleeping cap or pillow case. Sleeping caps are lined with satin material. This allows you hair to glide across the material instead of sticking to the pillow case. Satin also tends you keep your body cooler, as in a sweaty head you will less likely wake up with.
If a sleeping cap is not the cutest thing that you can imagine falling asleep in, you can also purchase satin pillow cases that will typically do the same thing. This small little investment makes a huge difference in how I wake up in the morning.
I purchased both my pillow case and sleeping cap from Sally Beauty Supply for around $3-$9. Not a bad deal. But what it saved me is the amount of time it would take me to get ready in the morning, and allows me to sleep in for at least another hour.
Added bonus, you don't get wrinkles from the sheets on your face when you use them.
Have a great weekend and enjoy a little less stress from now on in your mornings.
