Color Blocking Your Nails

I love the color blocking trend that has been so popular these past few seasons. But alas, I live in Michigan. When I was living in Miami, color blocking your outfit was just the thing to do. In fact, mixing pinks and oranges in just a single outfit was not something that was completely unheard of.

However in the muted state of Michigan, my look has become far more toned down. But how is a girl to remain fashionable, when the looks might be a little bit too much for your conservative lifestyle. THINK ACCESSORIES!!!!

Pairing toned down outfits with bold accessories is nothing new, but there is a definite fine line between classy and trashy.

Try a bright yellow purse with matching heels of the same color. Or earrings and a matching belt.

Never purchase a necklace and earring set, then wear them together. Way too much. Instead separate the set and use them at two different times as statement pieces.

Having a hard time still, try a small step with just your nails. Instead of painting one nail a different color then the rest. Try something more gradiant with the colors. And paint a few more.

Nails are hard to do on yourself. I know my left hand, for a fact, works differently then my right hand. LOL !  So go get a bottle of wine, a good girlfriend and a good movie and have at it. And never be afraid to experiment. Try things that you can find around the house to help out with angles and designs. To create half moon patterns try using hole reinforcements found at any office supply store. You can even overlap them to create even more designs. The possibilities are endless.

So enjoy the day and try something new. Let creativity flow.
Beachy dreams and sunshine wishes. XOXO
